TraumaResource Welcomes Clinical Psychologist Dr. Laurel DemainTraumaResource is pleased to announce a new practice associate, clinical psychologist, Laurel Demain, Ph.D. My business and life partner, Dr. Laurel Demain, brings a wealth of experience in a wide range of clinical areas. In addition to individuals, Dr. Demain has special expertise in treating couples and families as well as addictions and codependency issues. She is known for her warmth and approachable interpersonal style with all her patients.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology at UC Berkeley, her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and completed her internship at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center (National Center for PTSD). She worked with Vietnam veterans and their families for 5 years before joining Kaiser Permanente Medical Center Chemical Dependency Services in 1990. Dr. Demain has served as Chief of that department for over 12 years.
